Hell Hath No Wrath Like a Scorpio Scorned

Little O was born mid-September and is therefore a Virgo. Surprisingly, I can already identify Virgoan qualities in his behaviour, even at the tender age of three.

He focuses well on activities, is attentive and astute and, I suspect, understands a lot more about what's going on around him than I give him credit for. And despite his ritualistic tantrums of toddler-dom, I won't be surprised if he's the type to keep his emotional cards close to his chest when he grows older.

I, on the other hand, am seemingly incapable of keeping my feelings under wraps. And I don't think I can blame the hormones of motherhood because I've always been that way.

I'm a typical Scorpio - passionate, loyal, observant, resourceful yet, unfortunately, stubborn and obsessive too.

And whatever you do, please don't ask me a question you don't want the real answer to, because I'm a terrible liar.

I also have a touch of 'Marge Simpson' syndrome. Did you ever see that episode? The one where she tells Lisa to bury her sadness deep, deep down in a little hole inside herself and put on a smile instead.

Awful really, but I do do that sometimes. I know it's unhealthy - I know. Nobody's perfect. I am learning to de-'Marge'. I promise.

Nevertheless, whether it's the 'Marge' in me or the Scorpio passion, a handful of times in my life I have lost my temper and really let rip. And I mean, reeeeally let rip. Good and proper. And oh boy, doesn't it feel good.

Sometimes a good old shout will sort you out better than any deep and meaningful chat. It gets the blood pumping and leaves you gasping with the remnants of your vented frustration still zipping round your head until the mist lifts and you suddenly feel so much better.

If it hits you in the middle of Tesco, then I have to suggest you save it for later. But if you're alone in your car, away from the kids of course, and nowhere the men in white coats are likely to show up, set free your inner Scorpio and go for it.

No matter what time of year you are born, no doubt you have your own virtues and 'development points'. I, sensibly, married a Libra to encourage my more balanced side.

Just don't cut me up in traffic, though. You've been warned.

  1. My mum is a Scorpio and she is very stubborn! After reading this I decided to look up my own, Libra. "Has a hard time saying no and as a result, ends up stressed." Definitely me!

I agree that a good old shout can make you feel much better! #blogstravaganza

  2. As a fellow Scorpio I can relate to all of these traits. I find it fascinating how so often we live up to what's expected of our star sign. Letting rip once in a while definitely makes you feel good! Thanks so much for sharing with #Blogstravaganza xx

  3. Oh my youngest is a scorpio! Thank you for linking up to #SundayBest x
